In fact, this is the wrong approach. Because when the tire nut is tightened, there is self-locking between the threads. This is because the thread angle of the threads is smaller than the equivalent friction angle between the threads. In a given bolt connection, the helix angle is a certain value, and the equivalent friction angle changes with the friction state between threads. The equivalent friction angle between the threads is significantly reduced, and the self-locking performance of the bolt connection becomes worse. Therefore, grease or oil should not be applied to the bolts and nuts of the tire. In doing so, the nut will loosen, even an accident.
The cylinder head gasket is greased. Therefore, when some repairers install the cylinder head gasket, they will put a layer of butter on the cylinder head gasket of aerial work vehicles, believing that this can improve the sealing performance of the diesel engine. It is not clear that this will affect the performance of the diesel engine. The cylinder head gasket is an important seal between the cylinder block and the cylinder head of the diesel engine. It can not only seal the high temperature and high pressure gas generated in the cylinder, but also seal the cooling water and lubricating oil in the cylinder head and cylinder block. Therefore, when removing and installing the cylinder gasket, special attention should be paid to its sealing quality. If butter is applied to the cylinder head gasket during installation, some butter will be squeezed into the water and oil passages of the cylinder when the cylinder head bolts are tightened. When the butter between the cylinder head gasket works in the cylinder, due to the influence of high temperature, part of it flows into the cylinder for combustion, and the other part remains on the joint surface of the cylinder block and the cylinder head to form a cylinder. There is a gap between the gasket, the cylinder head and the plane of the body. High temperature and high pressure gas can easily impact the gasket from here, damage the gasket and leak air. In addition, butter will produce long-term carbon accumulation at high temperatures, leading to premature aging and deterioration of the cylinder head gasket. Therefore, do not apply butter when installing the cylinder head gasket.
